Milestone Systems has announced its acquisition of Brighter AI, a leading anonymization technology provider, in a strategic move to enhance privacy and compliance across its video management and AI offerings. The acquisition supports Milestone’s vision of becoming a responsible video technology leader and reinforces its commitment to ethical, secure, and regulation-aligned AI innovation.

Enhancing Privacy-Centric Video Solutions

With increasing global concerns over data privacy and AI ethics, Brighter AI's Deep Natural Anonymization tool brings a cutting-edge solution to the forefront of video surveillance and analytics. The tool uses AI to automatically detect personal identifiers like faces and replaces them with synthetic, privacy-compliant alternatives, allowing safe and legal use of video data for AI training and surveillance purposes.

This acquisition significantly boosts Milestone’s portfolio in video management software (VMS), video surveillance as a service (VSaaS), and analytics, while also becoming a cornerstone of Project Hafnia, Milestone’s newly launched data library and AI model training tool.
