MBRF, UNDP, and GSSCPD Launch "Knowledge Journey in Kuwait" to Empower Youth
The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF), in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Kuwait’s General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development (GSSCPD), has inaugurated the “Knowledge Journey in Kuwait.” This initiative aims to equip Kuwaiti youth with vital skills for fostering a knowledge-based economy aligned with Kuwait’s Third National Development Plan and Kuwait Vision 2035. This first workshop is part of a series that will culminate in the Knowledge Week, set for early 2025.
His Excellency Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of MBRF, remarked, “Today’s workshop is a key step in Kuwait’s journey toward a knowledge-based economy, empowering youth to drive innovation.” UNDP Resident Representative Emma Morley emphasized the UNDP’s commitment to preparing Kuwaiti youth for active roles in private sector innovation and sustainable growth. Representing GSSCPD, Eman Al-Sharrah highlighted the importance of youth engagement for sustainable development, expressing GSSCPD’s commitment to human resource investment in alignment with Kuwait Vision 2035.
The workshop included discussions on the role of knowledge economies, insights from the Global Knowledge Index (GKI), and sessions on skills needed to compete in evolving markets. The Knowledge Journey will continue with further sessions, offering a unique platform for youth to engage with policymakers and industry experts.
