The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF), in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), organised a Knowledge Ambassadors Workshop for Dubai Government entities in preparation for the 11th edition of the Knowledge Summit 2026.
Held under the theme “Knowledge: Navigating Crises in a Changing World,” the summit is scheduled to take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre in November 2026.
The workshop brought together Knowledge Ambassadors representing several Dubai government entities, including Dubai Police, Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), Dubai Health Authority, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Customs, and several other public sector organisations.
H.E. Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of MBRF, said the workshop reflects the Foundation’s commitment to strengthening knowledge integration and enhancing collaboration with government entities to support resilient and sustainable knowledge development.
He noted that the Knowledge Summit continues to serve as a global platform for dialogue and expertise exchange on key global transformations and challenges, including artificial intelligence, crisis management, and human capital development.
“Investing in knowledge and empowering people remain essential pillars for building future-ready societies capable of adapting to change and driving sustainable progress,” he said.
Dr. Hany Torky, Chief Technical Advisor of the Knowledge Project at UNDP, emphasised the importance of collective action and knowledge exchange among government entities and strategic partners to support innovative initiatives and sustainable development outcomes.
He added that the workshop aligns with the Knowledge Project’s objectives to advance knowledge production, dissemination, and localisation globally while strengthening policies and capabilities needed to adapt to rapid global transformations.
The workshop reviewed major themes for Knowledge Summit 2026, with discussions focusing on the growing role of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies across various sectors. Participants also explored strategies to improve societal preparedness in responding to crises more effectively while maintaining balance between economic growth, environmental sustainability, and human well-being.
Discussions additionally highlighted the importance of future skills, lifelong learning, and workforce reskilling to prepare future leaders and develop agile education systems capable of responding to evolving global demands.
The workshop concluded with several recommendations expected to help shape the framework of Knowledge Summit 2026, with participants stressing the importance of strengthening knowledge production and exchange across government institutions to enhance societal resilience and preparedness.
