Mansoor bin Mohammed Inaugurates Global Government Cloud Forum in Dubai

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council, inaugurated the first-of-its-kind Global Government Cloud Forum in Dubai. The landmark event, hosted by the Dubai Electronic Security Center (DESC) in collaboration with the World Bank Group, highlights Dubai’s leadership in advancing cloud computing and digital innovation.

The forum, held with the participation of over 500 industry experts, 200 government officials, 50 international speakers, and 30 government cloud technology leaders, served as a global platform to shape cloud computing strategies and promote sustainable development. Distinguished attendees included His Excellency Lieutenant General Talal Humaid Belhoul Al Falasi, President of Dubai’s State Security Department; His Excellency Awad Hader Al Muhairi, Chairman of DESC; and His Excellency Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General of Digital Dubai and DESC board member.

Dubai’s Vision for Digital Excellence

His Excellency Yousuf Al Shaibani, Chief Executive of DESC, emphasized the forum’s importance as a cornerstone initiative for building a secure digital society. Al Shaibani stated:
“Hosting this prestigious global forum reflects Dubai’s visionary leadership and commitment to accelerating digital innovation while promoting sustainable development. It further strengthens the UAE and Dubai’s standing as global hubs for technology and innovation.”

The event aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and the UAE Vision 2071, positioning Dubai as a future-forward city dedicated to adopting advanced technology solutions.

World Bank Commendation

The World Bank Group acknowledged the UAE’s leadership in cloud computing, particularly in adopting innovative practices and shaping international standards. Roby Senderowitsch, Practice Manager at the World Bank Group, highlighted Dubai’s efforts in advancing GovTech and fostering cross-country collaboration in digital development.

“Dubai’s role in shaping future global cloud strategies underscores its dedication to digital innovation and its position as a global model for visionary leadership and advanced infrastructure,” said Senderowitsch.

Recognition as a ‘City of the Future’

Dubai was celebrated as a ‘City of the Future’ for its cutting-edge technological advancements and robust digital infrastructure. The city’s modern initiatives, including advanced cloud computing strategies, have reinforced its status as a global hub for innovation.

The forum concluded with remarks from DESC and World Bank representatives, reaffirming the importance of cloud computing in driving sustainable development and fostering international collaboration.

The Global Government Cloud Forum was organized by DESC in partnership with du as the main partner, along with Moro HUB and the Investment Corporation of Dubai, further solidifying Dubai’s role in advancing cloud technologies on a global scale.
