Lincoln Nautilus Named MotorTrend's 2025 SUV of the Year

MotorTrend Group, a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Discovery, has awarded the 2025 SUV of the Year title to the Lincoln Nautilus. The luxury two-row crossover outperformed tough competitors, including the Rivian R1S, Toyota Land Cruiser, Lexus GX550, and Mercedes G-Wagen, impressing MotorTrend’s panel with its standout combination of style, technology, and user-centered design. Notably, Lincoln’s Nautilus was lauded for its elegant, sporty look, advanced safety features, interior comfort, and innovative digital experience system.

The MotorTrend “Of The Year” awards assess vehicles based on six main criteria: safety, efficiency, value, design innovation, engineering excellence, and performance. Ed Loh, MotorTrend Group’s Head of Editorial, highlighted the Nautilus’s superior balance of luxury and comfort, stating, “The right SUV is the perfect combination of style, comfort, and first-class driving experience – and the Nautilus delivers on every front.”

Powering the second-generation Nautilus is a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, producing 250 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. The hybrid model offers 310 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, combining an electric motor with an eCVT for enhanced efficiency. The SUV has received a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the IIHS, affirming Lincoln’s commitment to safety.

The Nautilus’s interior is designed to be an "oasis on wheels," featuring independently adjustable thigh cushions, massaging and cooling options, and a massive 48-inch panoramic display that impressed MotorTrend’s judges for its customizable, user-friendly design. The Nautilus also boasts notable sales success, with a 39% increase this year, contributing to a 25% year-to-date sales rise for Lincoln overall.

Dianne Craig, Lincoln’s president, noted the award underscores Lincoln’s commitment to innovative, client-focused SUV offerings. “The all-new Nautilus reimagines the cabin experience and takes our sanctuary to the next level with new connected experiences,” said Craig.

MotorTrend’s Car, Truck, SUV, and Performance Vehicle of the Year awards are highly respected within the industry. Established in 1949, these accolades represent excellence and significant influence in the automotive market.
