Abu Dhabi Maritime Awards 2024 Receives Record 120 Marina Submissions
Abu Dhabi Maritime, a division of AD Ports Group (ADX: ADPORTS) in cooperation with the Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, has announced a record-breaking 120 submissions for the second edition of the Abu Dhabi Maritime Awards (Marina Edition). The awards celebrate exceptional achievements across six key categories: ‘Sustainability’, ‘Employer Excellence’, ‘Health and Safety’, ‘Customer Experience’, ‘Innovation’, and ‘Outstanding Marina.’
This year, submissions tripled from the inaugural event, drawing entries from marinas across eight countries in the Middle East, North Africa, and Türkiye (MENAT) region. The enthusiasm reflects the sector's recognition of the awards' significance and trust in its organisers. Participating marinas, assessed on parameters like operational excellence, safety, and sustainability, are currently under review by assessors who will assign scores based on defined criteria for each category.
Top-scoring marinas will advance to the jury stage, where industry leaders will evaluate each submission's quality and select the winners. Additionally, the public can vote for the “Most Popular Marina” via a secure online platform, with winners announced on 23 November 2024 at the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show (ADIBS), a globally renowned maritime event.
His Excellency Abdulla Al Marzouqi, Director-General of the Integrated Transport Centre, praised the collaboration with Abu Dhabi Maritime, highlighting the awards' role in supporting a modern maritime infrastructure in Abu Dhabi. He reaffirmed the commitment to developing facilities that align with international standards to enhance safety and user experience across the region’s waterways.
