Knowledge Lounge' Organizes Series of Global Events to Discuss Writings and Books

The 'Knowledge Lounge', an initiative by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF), held a series of knowledge-focused events and panel discussions across and beyond the UAE in August. These sessions explored various literary works and fostered engaging conversations, garnering positive feedback from participants.

H.E. Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of MBRF, emphasized the foundation’s dedication to promoting reading and knowledge dissemination across all segments of society. He stated, “These events are part of our mission to encourage book reading and build a broader knowledge base among Arab readers. Through the 'Knowledge Lounge,' we are working to create an interactive space that nurtures the habit of reading and brings together the finest literary and scientific minds.”

As part of the initiative, various discussion sessions were held at locations such as Beans & Begs café in Abu Dhabi and Kalemat Bookstore in Dubai. Notable discussions included Charles Duhigg’s The Power of Habit and Sahar Mustafa’s The Beauty of Your Face, moderated by Mervat Sami Al Jamal and Heba Salah, respectively. In Ras Al Khaimah, a session titled Open Microphone with Professor Safiya Al-Shehhi explored Die Empty, moderated by Dr. Abeer Al Rasbi.

Internationally, the Abdul Hameed Shoman Library in Amman, Jordan, hosted a session moderated by Hana Al-Kurdi, where participants discussed Dr. Ahmed Khairy Al-Omari’s The Night of the Fall of Baghdad.

The 'Knowledge Lounge' aims to foster a culture of reading, encouraging readers to engage with authors in diverse literary discussions, thereby broadening knowledge in various forms.
