IMCD Launches New Headquarters and Laboratory Complex at Dubai Science Park to Drive Regional Growth and Innovation
In a strategic move to expand its presence across the Gulf, Middle East, and North Africa, IMCD Middle East has officially inaugurated its new regional headquarters and technical laboratory complex in Dubai Science Park, marking a significant milestone in the company’s growth journey.
The newly opened 4,160-square-foot facility will serve as a cornerstone for research, development, and testing, equipped with dedicated technical centers for food and beverage, coatings, and building materials. The launch aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, the Dubai Research and Development Program, and the national “We the Emirates 2031” vision, all of which aim to foster innovation and sustainable development across the UAE.
Supporting Dubai's Vision for a Knowledge-Based Economy
Hosted within Dubai Science Park, part of TECOM Group’s network of 10 specialized business communities, the new complex reflects IMCD’s commitment to building a strong innovation hub in Dubai and supporting key industries with advanced technical capabilities.
“Pioneering scientific discoveries and continuous advancements are pivotal to achieving sustainable development,” said Marwan Abdulaziz Janahi, Senior Vice President of TECOM Group. “IMCD’s new laboratories will directly support critical national priorities such as food security and sustainable construction.”
Accelerating Innovation in F&B, Coatings, and Building Materials
The food laboratories are designed to enable food product prototyping, texture analysis, and sensory evaluations, benefiting a wide range of industries—from dairy and bakery to snacks and beverages. IMCD’s coatings and building materials labs will focus on sustainable product development in areas like waterproofing and advanced construction materials.
“This campus allows us to collaborate more closely with regional manufacturers and tailor solutions to local market needs,” said Manuel Baumann, General Manager of IMCD Middle East. “We’re committed to supporting food innovation and environmentally conscious construction technologies.”
The new facilities aim to bolster regional food security and promote eco-friendly practices in line with Dubai’s status as a leading global hub for science, sustainability, and innovation.
Strengthening Dubai’s R&D Ecosystem
IMCD’s expansion further enhances Dubai Science Park’s reputation as a regional research powerhouse. Home to over 500 companies including AstraZeneca, Pfizer, and CHR Hansen, the park also supports the next generation of scientists through in5 Science, a specialized incubator that currently nurtures more than 35 science startups.
“This move underscores our commitment to science-led economic growth and reflects the UAE’s increasing importance on the global R&D map,” said Baumann.
