Huawei has appointed Corey Deng as Chief Cybersecurity and Privacy Officer (CSPO) for the Middle East and Central Asia, reinforcing its commitment to advancing cybersecurity, data protection, and privacy governance across the region.
Based in Dubai, Deng will lead Huawei’s regional cybersecurity strategy, overseeing frameworks related to data protection, AI security, and regulatory compliance. His role will also involve close collaboration with customers, partners, and regulators to strengthen the company’s end-to-end cybersecurity assurance systems amid a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
Deng brings more than 18 years of experience within Huawei, having joined the company in 2008. His career spans multiple international markets, combining technical expertise with leadership roles across cybersecurity, solutions sales, and research and development. Most recently, he served as CSPO at Huawei’s Digital Power Business Unit, alongside previous roles in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
Commenting on the appointment, Huawei’s regional leadership highlighted that cybersecurity and privacy are critical pillars for building a trusted digital ecosystem. Deng noted that as digital transformation accelerates, maintaining trust, resilience, and secure innovation will remain central to sustainable growth.
The appointment comes at a time when the region faces an increasingly complex cybersecurity landscape, shaped by geopolitical dynamics and rapid technological adoption. Huawei emphasised the need for evolving security approaches, including sovereign AI infrastructure and quantum-safe technologies, to address emerging risks.
