Hino introduced the new FD model in the Middle East region

Toyota Group's commercial vehicle division, Hino Motors, Ltd., has launched the new FD model Hino 500 Series mid-truck range for the Middle East. The upgraded vehicle includes a more powerful engine, with enhanced safety features and significant cabin refinements for a more comfortable ride.

The Hino 500 Series provides a reliable and flexible transportation solution that meets the needs of all types of businesses and has a total vehicle weight (GVW) of 10.4T. Safety was a top priority for Hino's engineers when designing the vehicle, which included features such as a wrap steering wheel, SRS airbags and anti-lock braking system (ABS). Its collision-resistant steel beam construction provides excellent protection for residents, while excellent downward visibility ensures a small child's visual recognition from just 1.6 meters away.

Several design changes have been implemented to make the cabin easier to access, including large door handles, auxiliary grips and steps, and a redesigned central passenger seat, which provides increased legroom. Meanwhile, the adjustable steering wheel ensures that drivers of all heights can enjoy a clearer view of the road ahead and their surroundings. The eight-way adjustable driver seat has been completely redesigned to provide maximum comfort and visibility, and comes with optional air suspension. Users can benefit from the convenience of optional power windows.

Available in all variants of the 2020 Hino 500 Series, the maximum power of the turbo-charged J08E engine has been increased from 220PS to 245PS at 2,500rpm compared to the previous model. Engine torque has been improved from 667Nm to 726Nm at 1,500rpm. While the Middle East model is Euro 3 compliant, the UAE Model Euro 4 meets emission standards, making it more powerful and environmentally friendly.

Yoshikazu Kayano, Managing Director of Hino Motors Middle East commented: We are pleased to introduce the new Hino 500 Series FD to the Middle East market, which offers significant improvements in comfort and safety.
