Etihad Rail to Redefine Tourism and Commute Across UAE by 2026
Etihad Rail’s upcoming passenger train service promises to transform daily commutes and redefine how tourists explore the UAE. Scheduled for launch in 2026, the high-speed network will slash travel times between major cities—bringing Abu Dhabi and Dubai within 57 minutes of each other, and connecting to Fujairah in under two hours.
With trains expected to run at speeds of up to 200 km/h, the new system offers a convenient, car-free way to experience the UAE—from cultural spots in Sharjah to coastal escapes in Ras Al Khaimah and desert retreats in Al Ain.
More than just a transport solution, Etihad Rail is designed to serve 36 million passengers annually by 2030, linking 11 cities from Al Sila near the Saudi border to Fujairah in the east. The project aims to reduce traffic congestion, promote sustainability, and make spontaneous travel across the Emirates seamless and affordable.
Whether for work or leisure, Etihad Rail is set to reshape mobility and unlock the full breadth of the UAE’s offerings for residents and visitors alike.
