Emirates Women Award honours DEWA
The Emirates Women Award has privileged Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA) as the main sponsor of the Award at a ceremony planned by Dubai Quality Group at The Address Downtown Dubai. The Award is under the patronage of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports, Chairman of the Emirates Group and Patron of the Dubai Quality Group. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the public and private sectors, media, and several women leaders and entrepreneurs.
The Emirates Women Award was launched in 2003, to motivate women and honour them for their outstanding performance in fields. The award comprises several criteria including, innovation, social contributions, career accomplishments, strategic planning, finance, leadership, and professional and entrepreneurial categories.
Fatima Deemas, Senior Manager of Internal Communications at DEWA and Vice Chairperson of the DEWA Womens Committee, received the award on behalf of Khawla Al Mehairi, VP Marketing & Corporate Communications and Chairperson of the Womens Committee at DEWA, from Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Chairman of the Dubai Quality Group.
Our sponsorship of the Emirates Women Award is within the framework of DEWAs strategy and ongoing efforts to support national events to empower women, and enhance their input to the business development and sustainable development of the UAE. Through our participation, we aim to provide an interactive platform for female employee at DEWA to share knowledge and experience, and acquire new skills to additional grow their professional and personal skills, said Khawla Al Mehairi, VP Marketing & Corporate Communications at DEWA.
