Emirates Post Group launches 52nd International Letter-Writing Competition for Young People

Emirates Post Group (EPG) has launched the 52nd International Letter-Writing Competition for Young People organised in coordination with the Universal Postal Union (UPU), encouraging children and young talents to express creativity and refine their writing skills. EPG is inviting young writers aged between nine to fifteen years from across the UAE to participate in this competition, which will be held from February 23 until April 21, 2023.

The Group hosted an event to launch this years competition which also included a special honouring of members from the Emirates Schools Establishment (ESE). Abdulla Mohammed Alashram, Group CEO of Emirates Post Group, expressed his gratitude for the ESEs immense support last year for the 51st International Letter-Writing Competition for Young People 2022. He also highlighted ESEs contributions to widening the competition's reach to a broad category of students across the nation and its role in the arbitration of the competitions letter submissions.

The competition aims to encourage youth to use the art of letter writing to express their ideas and opinions on a range of subjects. This year, the theme of the letter must be Imagine you are a superhero, and your mission is to make all roads around the world safer for children. Write a letter to someone explaining which superpowers you would need to achieve your mission. Students are required to compose a letter in either Arabic or English and submit it through the dedicated email address epcompetition@epg.ae

Abdulla Mohammed Alashram, Group CEO of Emirates Post Group, said: "We are delighted to work with the Emirates Schools Establishment and launch this years International Letter-Writing Competition for Young People. We appreciate the ESE for its notable efforts in encouraging children to participate in the competition. Since its inception, the competition has given students a platform to express their ideas and strengthen their literary and writing abilities through the written word. Furthermore, it also contributes to highlighting the role of postal services in the community. We encourage students from across the UAE to participate in the competition and ask that all schools support this initiative which focuses on road safety.

Winners of this competition will be chosen based on specific criterions listed on the website and will receive monetary rewards as well as a certificate of recognition. The first-place winner will receive AED 3,000, second-place AED 2,000, and third-place winner AED 1,000. One of the letters will also represent the UAE in the international round of the competition at the UPU.
