Emirates Gas and Dubai Civil Defence sign MoU to facilitate issuance of NOC to Bulk LPG installations

Emirates Gas (EMGAS), a subsidiary of Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) and Dubai Civil Defence have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two departments. The MoU will simplify and facilitate the adoption of plans and procedures for the issuance of No Objection Certificate (NOC) relating to bulk Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) installations and achieve the highest levels of safety standards.

Zaid Alqufaidi, Managing Director ENOC Marketing signed the MoU on behalf of Saeed Khoory, CEO of ENOC, in presence of Hesham Ali Mustafa, Senior Director ENOC Gas Marketing & General Manager Emirates Gas LLC and Khalid Saad Al Fuhaid, EMGAS Marketing and Sales Manager. Colonel Salem Khalifa, Assistant Director-General of the Dubai Civil Defence for Prevention and Protection, signed the MoU on behalf of Dubai Civil Defence. The signing ceremony was held during the Intersec Expo 2015 at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).

The MoU provides the framework for EMGAS and Dubai Civil Defence to cooperate in providing NOC for bulk LPG installations and adoption scheme mechanisms, exchanging common specialised information, carrying out common awareness campaigns and taking appropriate action against companies violating the standards and codes.

Saeed Khoory, CEO of ENOC said: We are honoured to partner with Dubai Civil Defence which has an accomplished track-record in safety practices. Our partnership will be marked by mutual knowledge transfer in all key areas, especially in safety workshops. We will also jointly explore common awareness campaigns that will strengthen public awareness on safety issues, in addition to taking appropriate action against violating companies.

Major General Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, Director General, UAE Civil Defence - Dubai, said: The new agreement with ENOC is a perfect example of how various organisations in Dubai can join hands to further the standards of safety. The MoU will significantly elevate the knowledge and skill sets of both ENOC and Dubai Civil Defence staff, and in turn contribute to the welfare of Dubais citizens.
