As the holy month of Ramadan comes to an end, residents across the UAE are preparing to celebrate Eid Al Fitr, beginning with the special Eid prayer held shortly after sunrise.

Authorities have confirmed that this year, congregational prayers will take place inside mosques only, ensuring safety and smooth organization across all emirates.

Eid Prayer Timings by Emirate

Eid prayers are typically performed 15–20 minutes after sunrise, with most timings falling between 6:30am and 6:50am.

1. Dubai: 6:40am (as announced by the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department)

2. Abu Dhabi:

   • Abu Dhabi City: 6:43am

   • Al Ain: 6:37am

   • Zayed City: 6:47am

3. Sharjah:

   • Sharjah & Al Hamriyah: 6:39am

   • Al Dhaid & Al Bataeh: 6:38am

   • Al Madam & Mleiha: 6:38am

   • Eastern Region: 6:37am

4. Ajman: Around 6:39am

5. Umm Al Quwain: 6:39am

6. Ras Al Khaimah: 6:37am

7. Fujairah: 6:36am

Authorities advise worshippers to arrive early (around 6:00–6:15am) as mosques are expected to be crowded. Traffic management teams, including Dubai Police, will be deployed to ensure smooth movement.

Eid Prayer Etiquette and Sunnah Practices

Muslims observe several traditions before and after the Eid prayer:

1. Performing ghusl (ritual purification) and wearing their best clothes

2. Applying perfume

3. Eating an odd number of dates before leaving for prayer

4. Walking to the mosque if possible

5. Taking different routes to and from the prayer

The Eid prayer consists of two rak‘ahs (units) with additional takbeers:

1. First rak‘ah: Seven extra takbeers after the opening

2. Second rak‘ah: Six additional takbeers

After the prayer, worshippers عادة remain to exchange greetings and celebrate with family and community, marking the joyful end of Ramadan.
