As the holy month of Ramadan comes to a close, residents across the United Arab Emirates are preparing to celebrate Eid Al Fitr with the traditional congregational prayers held shortly after sunrise.

Authorities have confirmed that Eid prayers this year will take place inside mosques only, ensuring a safe and organized environment for worshippers nationwide.

Eid Prayer Timings Across UAE

Eid prayers are typically performed 15–20 minutes after sunrise, falling between 6:30am and 6:50am across the Emirates. Worshippers are advised to arrive early, around 6:00–6:15am, due to expected crowds.

Here are the confirmed emirate-wise timings:

• Dubai: 6:40am (as per Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department)

• Abu Dhabi:

  • Abu Dhabi City: 6:43am

  • Al Ain: 6:37am

  • Zayed City: 6:47am

• Sharjah:

  • Sharjah & Al Hamriyah: 6:39am

  • Al Dhaid & Al Bataeh: 6:38am

  • Al Madam & Mleiha: 6:38am

  • Eastern Region: 6:37am

• Ajman: Around 6:39am

• Umm Al Quwain: 6:39am

• Ras Al Khaimah: 6:37am

• Fujairah: 6:36am

Eid Prayer Etiquette and Sunnahs

Before heading to the mosque, worshippers traditionally observe several recommended practices:

• Perform ghusl (ritual bathing) and wear their best clothes

• Apply fragrance

• Eat an odd number of dates before leaving

• Walk to the mosque if possible

• Take different routes for going and returning

The Eid prayer consists of two rak‘ahs, with additional takbeers:

• First rak‘ah: 7 extra takbeers

• Second rak‘ah: 6 extra takbeers
