EEIC and GCG Sign Key Agreements at ADIPEC 2024 to Boost Oil and Gas Sector Efficiency
Emirates Electrical & Precision Equipment Company (EEIC) and Gulf Commercial Group (GCG), both prominent players within the Ghobash Group's Energy division, have announced the signing of three pivotal agreements at the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) 2024. Partnering with Desert World, Valve Technologies, and Oxford Flow, EEIC and GCG aim to deliver innovative solutions to the oil and gas sector, addressing critical issues such as pipeline corrosion, valve durability, and zero-emission technologies. These advanced solutions are designed to enhance the reliability of oil and gas infrastructure, improve environmental performance, and streamline operational efficiency.
One significant partnership involves EEIC and Desert World, who are collaborating to address the costly issue of pipeline corrosion. Traditional methods of corrosion protection require annual inspections, which may leave pipelines vulnerable to undetected damage. To address this, Desert World has introduced Helix, a remote monitoring system that integrates with cathodic protection systems. Helix provides real-time alerts for operators, helping them proactively manage corrosion and maintain pipeline integrity.
“Helix alerts operators immediately to any system failures, enabling timely interventions that not only protect pipeline integrity but also significantly reduce maintenance costs,” said Gary Sarkis, General Manager of Desert World.
Through these collaborations, EEIC and GCG are advancing the UAE's energy sector by implementing technologies that support long-term sustainability, infrastructure integrity, and environmental responsibility.
