EDGE Group and Nokia Partner to Strengthen Secure Communications for Defense Sector
EDGE Group entity KATIM has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nokia to develop and provide secure telecommunications networks for mission-critical defense applications in the UAE. The agreement was formalized during the International Defense Exhibition & Conference (IDEX) 2025, currently taking place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC) until 21 February.
The MoU was signed by Didier Pagnoux, CEO of KATIM, and Mohamed Samir, Vice President of Middle East Mobile Networks at Nokia. The partnership aims to advance secure telecommunications solutions, including Military 5G and 5G in-a-box applications, ensuring the highest levels of security, reliability, and compliance for critical defense and national security operations.
By leveraging KATIM’s expertise in ultra-secure communications and Nokia’s leadership in B2B technology innovation, the collaboration seeks to enhance the resilience of secure communication infrastructure in the UAE. The initiative aligns with national security objectives by integrating advanced solutions that address the evolving challenges of tactical network security.
Didier Pagnoux, CEO of KATIM, emphasized the significance of the partnership, stating that it brings together specialized expertise to create solutions tailored to the needs of the defense sector. He highlighted that secure communications are fundamental to mission-critical applications and that this collaboration will contribute to strengthening national security measures.
Mohamed Samir, Vice President of Middle East Mobile Networks at Nokia, underscored the company's commitment to developing secure and resilient communication solutions. He noted that the partnership with KATIM would enable both entities to leverage their combined strengths in delivering world-class secure networks that enhance operational effectiveness.
Attendees of IDEX 2025 can explore EDGE Group’s latest advancements in defense and security technology at stand C20 in Hall 5 at ADNEC until 21 February.
