Dubai to Host World Cities Culture Summit 2024, Highlighting Youth's Role in Shaping the Future of Global Cities

Dubai is set to host the World Cities Culture Summit 2024 from October 30 to November 1, marking the first time the prestigious event will be held in the MENA region. Under the theme ‘Tomorrow’s Culture: How Will the Next Generation Shape Our World?’, the summit will gather global cultural leaders to discuss the future of culture and the role of youth in reshaping urban life.

The summit, hosted by Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), will showcase the emirate's leadership in the cultural sphere, reinforcing its status as a global hub for creativity and innovation. The event is held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture, and will feature sessions that explore the contribution of the next generation to the cultural and creative industries.

Her Excellency Hala Badri, Director General of Dubai Culture, emphasized the summit's significance as a platform for city leaders to exchange knowledge and form strategic partnerships that shape the future of culture. "Dubai's hosting of the summit highlights its capabilities in driving the global cultural agenda and stimulating creative exchange," she said. The summit will also align with the emirate's goal of positioning itself as a global center for culture and creativity, in line with its vision for 2026.

This year's program will feature discussions on the role of youth in shaping cultural policies, the integration of AI in cultural strategies, and the impact of creative districts on urban innovation. The event will be held at iconic Dubai locations, including Al Shindagha Museum, the UAE’s largest open-air heritage museum. A public session will also be held to discuss how future generations can thrive in the digital and globalized world.

In addition, the summit will launch the third round of the ‘Leadership Exchange Programme’, supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies, to foster international cooperation. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience Dubai’s cultural tourism offerings and engage with a variety of creative works by local Emirati talent.
