Emirates Health Services Reports Significant Growth in Dental Implant Procedures

Emirates Health Services (EHS) has announced a remarkable increase in dental implant procedures, with the number of patients benefiting from these services rising from 110 in 2020 to 813 in 2024. This substantial growth reflects EHS's commitment to providing advanced healthcare solutions in dental restoration, enhancing patients' quality of life and supporting the National Strategy for Wellbeing 2031.

His Excellency Dr. Essam Al Zarooni, Acting Executive Director of the Clinical Services Sector at EHS, highlighted that this increase aligns with the directives of the UAE's leadership, which emphasizes exceptional healthcare services and the overall health and well-being of citizens and residents. The initiative supports the "We the UAE 2031" vision and the UAE Centennial 2071, aiming to establish a sustainable healthcare system that meets future national aspirations.

Dr. Haifa Hannawi, Director of the Dental Services Department at EHS, emphasized the organization’s commitment to creating a safe and comfortable environment for patients. She noted that the success of dental implant procedures can be attributed to advanced technology, skilled medical staff, and the personalized attention given to each patient throughout all stages of care, from initial consultation to recovery.

Innovative Technologies Enhancing Patient Outcomes

The adoption of innovative and smart technologies has played a pivotal role in improving the results of dental implant procedures and accelerating patient recovery. These advanced solutions enable healthcare providers to deliver tailored treatments that cater to individual patient needs. The increasing demand for dental implants is driven by their health and aesthetic benefits, which often surpass traditional methods like bridges by preserving surrounding bone, preventing deterioration, and providing a more natural appearance and improved functionality.

Criteria for Successful Dental Implants

To ensure the success of dental implant procedures, patients must be in good health and at least 18 years old, ensuring complete bone growth. Comprehensive examinations, including general health assessments and CT scans, are required to evaluate the condition of the surrounding bone and the implant site, minimizing the risk of implant failure. Good oral and gum health is also crucial; thorough evaluations are conducted to ensure the absence of infections, active gum disease, or dental cavities in adjacent teeth before surgery.

Commitment to Global Standards and Public Awareness

EHS is dedicated to promoting public awareness about oral and dental health through ongoing educational campaigns and training programs that highlight the importance of dental implants in improving quality of life. The organization continues to provide training for its medical professionals in collaboration with local and international research centers, ensuring adherence to global standards and staying updated on the latest effective treatment solutions.
