Dubai South partners with Dubai Dental Hospital in a joint effort to promote good health and wellbeing on Labor Day

In recognition to the importance of labor work in achieving comprehensive and sustainable development in the UAE, Dubai South in partnership with the Dubai Dental Hospital, recently organized a Labor Day program which focused on promoting good health and wellbeing among laborers, in line with its commitment to contribute to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The event was held today at the Dubai South, Business Park Building.

Dubai Souths Logistics District hosted the event which was aimed at boosting UAEs efforts in meeting SDG 3, an international goal seeking to ensure good health and wellbeing for all as well as SDG 17 which is focused on increasing partnerships to achieving SDGs. It conducted a dental screening and oral hygiene awareness campaign in partnership with the Dubai Dental Hospital for all labor employees working within the District.

Dubai Dental Hospital provided one dentist, who is a faculty member at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences dental college the Hamdan Bin Mohammed College of Dental Medicine, along with two endodontics residents, and assistants during the campaign.

Abdul Basit Al Marzouqi, Director Logistics Operations, Dubai South, said: We are honored to partner with Dubai Dental Hospital in promoting good health and wellbeing through initiatives that support the labor community in Dubai. This is in line with Dubai Souths values following the footsteps of the late Sheikh Zayed to serve humanity in every possible way. Our commitment to enhance the conditions of laborers is in line with our efforts to take part in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Dr. Khawla Belhoul, Director of the Dubai Dental Hospital, commented: We are happy to join hands with Dubai South and conduct dental screenings for laborers at the Dubai South as part of our commitment to promote oral hygiene and meet the healthcare needs of the residents of Dubai. As Dubais first and largest dental hospital were always keen to educate the community on the best methods of dental care and decay prevention, starting from a young age.
