Dubai RTA Announces Temporary Traffic Diversions Over The Weekend
Roads and Transport Authority has announced temporary traffic diversions across key areas in the city over the weekend due to scheduled roadworks, urging motorists to plan journeys in advance.
A major diversion will be implemented on Al Khaleej Street, between Cairo Street Roundabout and Al Wahida Street Roundabout (towards Al Mamzar), starting from 12:00am on Sunday, April 5, until 5:00am on Monday, April 6.
The closure is part of ongoing infrastructure works aimed at maintaining and improving road quality and traffic flow across the emirate.
In addition, a temporary diversion will be in place at the intersection of Hessa Street and First Al Khail Street, beginning 11:00pm on Saturday, April 4, and continuing until 8:00am on Monday, April 6, to facilitate development works in the area.
Authorities have advised motorists to strictly follow directional signage and use alternative routes to minimise delays. Suggested routes include Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Asayel Street, and Al Sufouh Street, which are expected to help ease traffic congestion during the diversion period.
The RTA emphasised the importance of driver awareness and compliance to ensure smooth traffic movement and safety while the works are underway.
Residents and commuters are encouraged to stay informed and allow extra travel time, particularly during peak hours, as temporary disruptions may affect usual traffic patterns.
