Dubai Police Deploys Drone Box System to Enhance Safety in High-Rise Districts
Dubai Police, in collaboration with the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), has deployed its advanced Drone Box system in two of the city's busiest business districts—Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT) and Uptown Dubai. This marks a significant milestone as it is the first time the system has been used in high-rise environments, aiming to enhance public safety and situational awareness.
The Drone Box system, a cutting-edge technology in the field of unmanned aerial systems, will be used to monitor high-rise buildings, providing real-time data and ensuring swift responses in emergencies. This initiative is part of a broader citywide effort to integrate smart technologies into urban safety, particularly in densely populated areas with towering buildings.
The agreement, signed between Dubai Police and DMCC, is a part of Dubai’s strategy to create safer, more innovative urban spaces. The initiative will play a key role in reducing emergency response times and providing critical data to aid in decision-making processes.
Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and CEO of DMCC, praised the partnership, highlighting the importance of the Drone Box system in maintaining high safety standards in the city. He stated, “This is a significant step forward for urban safety in Dubai, and our collaboration with Dubai Police reflects our commitment to using smart technologies for the benefit of the community.”
Captain Mohammed Omar Almuhairi, Head of the Unmanned Aerial Systems Centre (UASC) at the Dubai Police General Department of Operations, emphasized the success of the citywide initiative, stating, “The Drone Box system has already proven valuable in reducing emergency response times and delivering critical data. With DMCC’s support, we aim to enhance public safety in Dubai’s fastest-growing business districts.”
This collaboration is expected to play a crucial role in ensuring safety and security as Dubai continues to expand and innovate in its urban development.
