Dubai Municipality To Open 35 New Parks With Dh348 Million Investment
Dubai Municipality has announced plans to open 35 new parks across the emirate this year, with a total investment of Dh348 million, reinforcing the city’s commitment to sustainable urban living and community wellbeing.
The new developments will cover over 340,000 square metres and serve 23 residential communities, forming part of the broader Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan and aligned with the Dubai Parks and Greenery Strategy and Blue and Green Spaces Roadmap 2030.
Designed as accessible, people-centric spaces, all parks will be located within a five-minute walking distance of nearby neighbourhoods. Authorities confirmed that the parks will be open and unfenced, blending seamlessly with surrounding communities while reflecting their local identity.
According to Bader Anwahi, the initiative reflects a broader vision of creating a human-centric urban ecosystem that enhances quality of life, wellbeing, and social cohesion.
“By ensuring parks are within walking distance and designed around evolving community needs, we are setting a new benchmark for public spaces in Dubai,” he said.
The parks will incorporate climate-responsive designs and resilient infrastructure, alongside sustainability-focused features such as tree planting, recycled irrigation water, and renewable energy solutions. Advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence and robotics, will also be deployed to improve environmental management and resource efficiency.
Each park will feature five integrated zones, catering to all age groups and ensuring year-round usability. These include children’s play areas, sports facilities, social spaces, F&B zones, and flexible indoor and outdoor community areas.
Collectively, the parks will offer over 60 children’s play areas, 18 football fields, 20 multi-use sports courts, as well as running and cycling tracks, skate areas, shaded seating, picnic zones, and water features.
Dubai Municipality is also encouraging private sector participation through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) models, supporting the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 by driving economic diversification and faster project delivery.
Looking ahead, the emirate aims to deliver 310 new parks and upgrade more than 220 existing parks by 2040, further strengthening its position as a global leader in livable, sustainable urban environments.
