In a robust effort to enhance sustainability and maintain Dubai's appeal during Eid Al-Adha, Dubai Municipality has announced the deployment of 3,150 cleaning supervisors and workers. This initiative aims to ensure public hygiene across various sectors, including roads, beaches, and public facilities.

The comprehensive plan involves 2,250 municipal sanitation engineers and 650 private sector sanitation engineers. Additionally, 250 supervisory and control staff members will manage tasks and handle emergency field reports. To cover 2,300 kilometers of main roads, a team of 165 supervisors and sanitation engineers has been assigned, while 91 staff and engineers will focus on public beach cleanliness.

The Municipality has also deployed 759 vehicles and equipment to support routine and emergency operations. These include heavy and lightweight vehicles, rental vehicles, and specialized equipment for comprehensive cleaning tasks.

Commitment to Cleanliness and Sustainability

Dubai Municipality's efforts reflect its commitment to an integrated waste management system, maintaining high cleanliness standards, and enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors. These efforts are particularly intensified during special occasions, holidays, and major events.

Integrated Field Teams

A dedicated team of 250 supervisory and control staff will oversee basic cleaning duties and manage routine and emergency field reports. Additionally, 2,250 municipal sanitation engineers will work in a four-shift system, supported by 650 private sector cleaning engineers.

A specialized field team of 91 personnel will ensure public beach cleanliness, operating in three shifts daily. Moreover, nine inspectors and supervisors will monitor the cleanliness of investment areas and compliance with approved work systems by real estate development companies.

Main Roads and Highways

To maintain the cleanliness of 2,300 kilometers of main roads, the Municipality has assigned a team of 155 sanitation engineers and 10 supervisory personnel. This team will work in four shifts to ensure prompt waste collection and address any emergencies, including accident site cleanups along external roads and highways.

Automated Fleet

The Municipality's fleet comprises 759 automated vehicles and necessary equipment to support regular and emergency field operations. This fleet includes 318 heavy vehicles, 158 lightweight vehicles, 176 rental vehicles, 77 heavy equipment units, and 30 lightweight equipment units connected to boats for cleaning. During Eid Al-Adha, the fleet will execute an average of 456 daily programs.

Operating Hours and Public Services

Landfills, waste disposal locations, and treatment facilities will operate on extended schedules during the holidays. The Al Qusais and Bayada landfills will be operational around the clock, as will the Jebel Ali Hazardous Waste Treatment Plant and the Warsan waste-to-energy conversion facility.

Dubai Municipality has streamlined access to various services through its website, allowing the public to request waste disposal permits, contract waste collection services, and secure no-objection certificates for infrastructure projects. Bulk waste collection services will be temporarily paused on the first day of Eid Al-Adha and will resume subsequently.

The Municipality urges the public to follow guidelines, preserve public facilities, avoid barbecuing on green areas, and ensure proper waste disposal to maintain Dubai's urban aesthetic.
