Dubai Judicial Institute Launches First National Qualifications Centre-Accredited Training Program for Public Prosecution Members
Reinforcing its commitment to enhancing judicial efficiency and excellence, the Dubai Judicial Institute (DJI) has launched the 14th cohort of its pioneering training program, Judicial and Legal Studies for Public Prosecution Members. Marking a significant milestone, this program is the first of its kind to receive official accreditation from the National Qualifications Centre under the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The program was inaugurated in the presence of His Excellency Counsellor Essam Issa Al Humaidan, Attorney General of the Emirate of Dubai and Chairman of DJI. It will run from April 14, 2025, to January 20, 2026, and aim to train and qualify 20 Emirati candidates to assume responsibilities as public prosecutors in Dubai.
The program combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills and focuses on essential legal areas such as criminal investigation, evidence collection, and case handling. It also integrates modern training tools, including digital learning platforms and metaverse-based virtual crime scene simulations, to deliver a forward-thinking educational experience.
H.E. Counsellor Al Humaidan emphasized the significance of the program, stating, “This training program holds substantial value as the first to be accredited by the National Qualification Centre. It reflects DJI’s strategic vision to enhance the efficiency of the Public Prosecution and fortify Dubai’s position as a global benchmark for judicial excellence. Our focus on developing Emirati talent aligns with the Dubai Government’s vision to empower national professionals and provide impactful career paths within the judicial sector.”
H.E. Judge Dr. Ebtessam Ali Al Badwawi, Director-General of DJI, reiterated the Institute’s commitment to raising the competitiveness of judicial professionals and aligning training standards with global best practices. She highlighted that the Institute’s programs are built upon cutting-edge scientific methods and tailored to respond to the evolving needs of the legal sector.
“The accreditation of this program reaffirms DJI’s progress towards leadership in legal education,” Judge Dr. Al Badwawi noted. “Our curriculum is designed to address the dynamic legal landscape, equipping professionals with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel and support Dubai’s ambition of becoming a global role model in justice and the rule of law.”
The launch of this accredited program is part of DJI’s broader strategy to secure National Qualifications Centre certification across all its training offerings. This initiative ensures the delivery of high-quality, efficient training that supports the UAE’s long-term vision for a world-class judicial system. It reflects the ambitions of the UAE’s leadership, guided by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, and Chairman of the Dubai Judicial Council.
