Dubai Digital Concludes Successful Showcase at GITEX Europe and AI World 2025 in Berlin

Dubai Digital successfully concluded its participation in the GITEX Europe and AI World 2025 exhibitions, held in Berlin from May 21 to 23. The event attracted global attention and highlighted Dubai’s leadership in digital transformation and artificial intelligence.

The Dubai Pavilion, organized under the leadership of Dubai Digital, featured 12 government and private entities showcasing the emirate’s innovative digital initiatives. These included Dubai Police, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, Dubai Civil Defense, Dubai International Financial Centre Courts, Dubai Electronic Security Centre, Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism, Dubai Customs, the Dubai Future Foundation, and the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre. E& and Emaratek also participated as Platinum Partners.

Spotlight on Dubai's Digital Achievements

The Dubai Pavilion drew significant interest from attendees, with a spotlight on AI applications and technologies designed to enhance quality of life and support global digital advancement. The event served as a platform for Dubai Digital and its partners to share expertise, strengthen international cooperation, and showcase innovative platforms.

Among the highlights was a panel discussion titled "Building Nations with AI: Shaping Policies, Investments, and Systems in the Smart Age," featuring H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General of Dubai Digital.

Additionally, H.E. Younis Al Nasser, CEO of the Dubai Data and Statistics Corporation, met with Mr. Jens-Peter Weidner, General Manager at Equinix—the world’s largest provider of colocation data centers—fostering collaboration in global data infrastructure.

Strategic Engagements and AI Dialogue

The second day was marked by high-level meetings, including discussions between H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori and global tech leaders such as Jaeger McConnell (CEO of Crunchbase), Martin Kuhn (President and COO of Coher), and government officials including Dr. Severin Fischer, State Secretary in Berlin’s Ministry of Economics, and Ioannis Alexakis, Director General of the National Cybersecurity Authority of Greece.

A key event on the second day was the panel discussion "The Hidden Costs of AI: What the Numbers Don't Show," where experts addressed AI’s real-world challenges, such as infrastructure demands, ethical considerations, and workforce impacts. Speakers included H.E. Younis Al Nasser, Daniel Abu (CEO, German AI Association), Gemina Almendares (Global CDO, Decathlon), Sacha Rubel (AWS), and Dr. Valerio Rizzo (Lenovo).

Visit to Merantix AI Studio

On the final day, Dubai’s delegation visited Merantix AI Studio—Europe’s leading AI startup incubator. The visit emphasized Dubai’s commitment to engaging with pioneering tech ecosystems and leveraging AI for entrepreneurial development.

Showcasing Smart Government Services

Dubai Digital unveiled several flagship digital solutions during the event:

  • Dubai Dashboard: A real-time, 360-degree data visualization platform for strategic decision-making.

  • Dubai Observatory: An AI-powered system to analyze data and forecast unusual trends.

  • Smart Employee App: An integrated app for financial and HR services, serving over 76 government entities and 76,000 employees.

  • Dubai Now: A unified platform providing access to key government services.

  • UAE Pass: The UAE’s secure national digital identity enables easy and secure user verification through facial recognition.

H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori remarked on the significance of the participation:

“This event reflected Dubai’s pioneering role in digital transformation and AI adoption. Through active engagement with global leaders and innovators, we’ve shared our experience and learned from others to build a smarter, more sustainable future in line with our leadership’s vision.”
