Dubai Culture and L’ÉCOLE Middle East Celebrate Completion of First ‘Talent Atelier’ Phase

Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) and L'ÉCOLE Middle East, School of Jewelry Arts, celebrated the successful conclusion of the inaugural phase of the ‘Talent Atelier’ programme. The initiative, supported by Van Cleef & Arpels, honoured 12 Emirati designers with certificates following their completion of an intensive three-week jewellery design course at L'ÉCOLE Middle East's Dubai Design District campus.

The ‘Talent Atelier’ programme aims to nurture emerging Emirati talent, with participants receiving expert training in Art History, Gemology, and jewellery-making techniques. Led by professional jewellers, gemologists, and art historians, the course included a special visit to the Al Safa Art and Design Library, further enhancing their learning experience.

The ceremony saw key figures in attendance, including Her Excellency Hala Badri, Director General of Dubai Culture; Alessandro Maffi, President of Van Cleef & Arpels Middle East and India; and Sophie Claudel, Director of L'ÉCOLE Middle East. In her keynote, Hala Badri emphasized Dubai’s role as a global design hub and its commitment to supporting local talent through initiatives like the ‘Talent Atelier.’

The programme’s second phase will offer six designers the opportunity to participate in a five-day educational journey to Paris in November 2024. This next step will provide deeper insights into jewellery craftsmanship at L'ÉCOLE's newest European campus.
