Dubai Culture and Emirates Intellectual Property Association Forge Strategic Partnership to Boost IP Awareness
The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has entered a strategic partnership with the Emirates Intellectual Property Association (EIPA) by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing collaboration in the field of intellectual property. The agreement reflects a joint commitment to supporting the knowledge economy and raising awareness about intellectual property rights across the UAE.
Under the MoU, both parties will coordinate efforts to launch a series of initiatives, workshops, and annual programs that promote awareness of legal and cultural aspects of intellectual property. This includes sharing best practices, hosting training sessions, and exchanging resources such as publications, videos, and research materials focused on intellectual property issues.
The collaboration is set to contribute to the UAE’s broader vision of innovation-led development by fostering an environment that protects the rights of creators, entrepreneurs, and innovators. It also seeks to reinforce the legislative and educational frameworks essential for safeguarding intellectual and artistic contributions.
Her Excellency Hala Badri, Director General of Dubai Culture, emphasized the authority’s mission to protect the rights of creatives and innovators. “The UAE has cultivated a vibrant cultural ecosystem where intellectual property rights are preserved. This partnership aligns with our efforts to develop a robust environment for talent in literary, artistic, and intellectual domains,” she said. “It contributes directly to our goal of positioning Dubai as a global centre for culture and a thriving hub for talent and creativity.”
His Excellency Major General Dr. Abdul Quddoos Abdul Razzaq Al Obaidly, Chairman of EIPA, welcomed the agreement, highlighting its strategic importance in fostering respect for intellectual property rights. “Our partnership with Dubai Culture represents a united commitment to supporting creators and advancing the national economy through innovation and intellectual excellence,” he stated. He further noted the association’s continued efforts to build a sustainable legislative and knowledge environment, develop national talents, and reinforce the UAE’s position as a global leader in intellectual property protection.
The MoU is expected to play a significant role in driving Dubai’s creative economy forward and in achieving the goals set out in the Emirate’s cultural strategy.
