Dubai to be United in Celebration for Eid Al Adha from September 25 to October 11, 2014

The Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), has announced the calendar of events for the seventh edition of Eid in Dubai Eid Al Adha, which is set to kick off on 25 September and will run until 11 October.

During the 17-day celebrations, visitors and residents will have the opportunity to enjoy a host of festival-themed entertainment, including events and activities designed to cater to families and individuals of all nationalities encouraging visitors from around the region and beyond to make the most of the unique experiences that Dubai has to offer during these much-awaited Eid holidays.

Complemented by the city-wide decorations that further enhance the lively festive atmosphere of the city, the Eid in Dubai Eid Al Adha celebrations are aimed at strengthening Dubais position as the choicest family-favorite destination during the Eid holidays.

Shoppers can look forward to a world-class shopping experience in Dubai, with the leading malls and shopping centers offering extended hours providing visitors ample time to enjoy the emirates bustling retail scene topped off by exciting promotions and family-oriented in-mall entertainment throughout the 17 days of festivities.

H. E. Suhail also emphasized that annual festivals such as Eid in Dubai, continue to play a pivotal role in strengthening the retail and tourism sectors of the emirate, by contributing towards the higher volumes of tourists visiting the city during this season, in addition to a remarkable growth in sales as recorded at the several shopping malls and shopping centers of Dubai. The increase in hotel occupancy rates and reservations further provides the market and the economic sectors an additional boost through a range of initiatives that play both a direct and indirect part in the success of Dubais thriving business landscape.

She elaborated that events and activities organized during Eid Al Adha serve as a cultural backdrop of Dubai showcasing the UAEs rich heritage and traditions, the generosity of its people and the welcoming hospitality that attracts people from far and wide to create unforgettable and joyful memories of a wonderful Eid experience in the city.

She also thanked the DFREs strategic partners, sponsors and government agencies for their unwavering supporting in helping the festivals organized by the DFRE, achieve newer milestones each year.

Rotana Eid Al Adha Concerts
5 and 6 October, 11:00pm

Well-known artists from the Arab musical industry are gearing up to enthrall their fans in Dubai during the seventh edition of Eid in Dubai Eid Al Adha. Music aficionados can root for Rabeh Sager and Shamma Hamdan on the first day of the concert and join Mohammed Abdo and Arwa for a musical spectacle on the second day at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Tickets are priced between AED300 and AED2,500.

Residents and visitors of Dubai are in for two musical dates this Eid Al Adha. On 5 October, fans can look forward to enjoying a live concert with Lebanese musician Melhem Barakat, popular singer Ayman Zbib, and singer Oumnia Mohamed. On 6 October, a Moroccan musical spectacle awaits visitors as they join the celebrated artist Saeeda Sharaf and singer, songwriter and composer Najat Aatabou for another magical night. Tickets for the concert are priced at AED 900, AED 1200 and AED1500.

Dhun Ki Dhoom Concert

Ismat Apa Ke Naam

Talented theatre and film artists from India including Manoj Pahwa, Seema Pahwa and Loveleen Mishra are touching down in Dubai for their first-ever solo performance in a one-act play organized as part of the series of the popular Ismat Apa Ke Naam play written by Ismat Khanum Chughtai and directed by the legendary Naseeruddin Shah. The 120-minute show will bring to life three short stories enacted into plays in the Urdu language. The second part of the popular series is being enacted for the first time in the Dubai and the UAE. Tickets are priced between AED100 and AED500.

Sesame Street Live - Elmo Creates Music

Princesses of Pop

The star-studded musical show is an incredible tribute to Princesses of Pop such as Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Rihanna and Katy Perry as award-winning look-alike singers electrify the stage with the singers popular soundtracks and recreate all the glitz and glamour fans associate with their favourite pop stars through customized costumes.
