Wellfit Opens First Abu Dhabi Flagship Fitness Centre at Reem Mall

Wellfit, part of Formative, the UAE’s largest fitness collective, has opened its first Abu Dhabi fitness centre at Reem Mall on Reem Island, marking the brand’s entry into the capital’s fitness market.

Spanning 50,000 square feet, the new flagship club is Wellfit’s sixth flagship location in the UAE. It combines strength and cardio training facilities with performance programmes, group exercise studios, martial arts, children’s activities and dedicated recovery and wellness amenities.

HYROX-Affiliated Club Offers Extensive Training Facilities

The new centre features dedicated HYROX and performance training areas, supported by certified coaches, specialist equipment and tailored programmes for members preparing for HYROX events or seeking performance-focused workouts.

Its strength and cardio facilities include:

  • 72 cardio machines

  • 50 strength machines

  • More than 15 glute and hip machines

  • 11 dumbbell racks

  • Six cable and multi-stations

  • 12 Olympic lifting platforms

The facility is designed to accommodate a range of training preferences, from strength and conditioning to functional fitness and endurance workouts.

Group Exercise, Cycling and Martial Arts

Wellfit Reem Mall also features a main group exercise studio, a dedicated cycling studio equipped with 22 bikes, a children’s studio and a dedicated mixed martial arts (MMA) area.

A schedule of adult and junior classes will cater to members at different fitness levels and stages of their training journeys. The offering includes Wellfit’s Junior Martial Arts programme.

Recovery and Wellness Facilities for Members

Recovery is a central component of the new club’s offering. Separate wellness facilities for men and women include five cold plunges, two saunas and two experiential showers.

Members can also access a dedicated Hyperice recovery zone and vanity stations, allowing them to incorporate recovery into their regular fitness routines.

The club’s membership experience is further complemented by Hungry Wolves, Wellfit’s award-winning healthy eating restaurant.

Located on Reem Island, the centre offers free parking for members and visitors, with access from communities across Abu Dhabi.

Formative Expands Its Fitness Network

David Prosser, CEO of Formative, said the opening marked an important milestone as Wellfit brought its fitness offering to Abu Dhabi for the first time.

“At 50,000 sqft, this is a significant new facility that has been designed to offer everything our members need in one location,” Prosser said.

He added that Abu Dhabi’s growing community focused on health and active living, alongside Reem Mall’s location, made it an ideal setting for the brand’s first club in the capital.

Wellfit Targets Further Growth Across the UAE

Since opening its first location in 2021, Wellfit has expanded to six flagship locations across the UAE. Its existing clubs are located in Jumeirah Village Circle, Meydan, Dubai Marina and Mirdif’s Sport Society in Dubai, as well as Aljada in Sharjah.

Wellfit is part of Formative, a fitness collective launched by Arada in November 2025. The platform also brings together FitnGlam, The Platform Studios and FITCODE.

Collectively, the brands serve approximately 40,000 members across more than 20 clubs, with a target of reaching 100,000 members across 40 locations by 2027.

The opening at Reem Mall expands Wellfit’s geographic reach while adding a large-scale fitness and wellness facility to Abu Dhabi’s growing leisure and lifestyle offering.
