Dubai Retail has announced plans to open Skylight Mall, a new super-regional shopping and lifestyle destination on Al Khail Road, in 2027.

The development will add 1.3 million square feet of gross leasable area (GLA) and more than 360 stores to Dubai's retail landscape, expanding Dubai Retail's portfolio to 58 malls and lifestyle destinations across the emirate.

Skylight Mall to feature more than 360 stores

Skylight Mall will bring together retail, dining, entertainment and everyday services under one roof.

Dubai Retail said the destination has been designed around interconnected spaces that will allow visitors to move between shopping, dining, entertainment and social areas.

The contemporary design will feature expansive interiors and architectural elements intended to create a sense of openness and scale.

Mall to serve growing residential communities

Located along Al Khail Road, Skylight Mall is expected to serve residents of several communities in and around the corridor, including Jumeirah Village Triangle (JVT), Jumeirah Islands and The Springs.

Its location is also expected to make the mall accessible to visitors from other parts of Dubai.

The development comes as Dubai continues to expand residential communities and supporting retail and lifestyle infrastructure along major transport corridors.

Dubai Retail expands mall portfolio

The launch of Skylight Mall will further expand Dubai Retail's portfolio across the emirate.

Its existing destinations include Palm Jumeirah Mall, Nad Al Sheba Mall, Ibn Battuta Mall, Dragon Mart and The Outlet Village, as well as lifestyle destinations such as Bluewaters, JBR, Souk Madinat Jumeirah and Palm West Beach.

The company said its portfolio is designed to serve different consumer needs across Dubai, from neighbourhood retail and everyday services to large-scale shopping, dining and entertainment destinations.

New retail destination planned for 2027

Dubai Retail said Skylight Mall reflects its continued investment in destinations designed to respond to changing customer expectations and Dubai's ongoing urban development.

With more than 360 stores and a broad mix of retail, dining and entertainment offerings, the mall is expected to add another major destination to Dubai's expanding retail sector when it opens in 2027.
