Digital Dubai Launches ‘Parents Track’ to Promote Healthy Digital Habits for Families

Digital Dubai has launched the “Parents Track” under its Digital Balance Program as part of wider efforts to promote safe, balanced, and responsible technology use among families and children across the emirate.

The initiative was introduced in collaboration with the Community Development Authority, Knowledge and Human Development Authority, Dubai Health Authority, and in partnership with Sage Clinics.

Officials said the programme aligns with the UAE’s Year of Family initiative and supports Dubai’s vision of creating a human-centric digital society focused on wellbeing and quality of life.

Supporting Families In The Digital Age

The “Parents Track” forms part of the broader Digital Balance Program, which was established to encourage positive and responsible technology use across the community.

The initiative also supports the objectives of the Dubai Social Agenda 33, aimed at strengthening social cohesion, enhancing quality of life, and building a digitally aware society.

The launch follows the earlier introduction of the “Senior Citizens Track,” expanding the programme’s reach to different community groups.

Focus Areas Of The Parents Track

The programme addresses several key issues linked to children’s digital wellbeing and safe technology use.

Topics include:

  • Digital safety and online privacy
  • Managing screen time effectively
  • Creating healthy family technology guidelines
  • Encouraging positive communication between parents and children
  • Protecting children from harmful online content
  • Raising awareness of psychological and physical effects linked to excessive technology use

The initiative also promotes healthy digital habits that support balanced childhood development and family wellbeing.

Officials Highlight Importance Of Digital Awareness

Ghaith Al Mazaina said the launch reflects Digital Dubai’s commitment to helping families adapt to rapid digital transformation while creating safer online environments for children.

He noted that the initiative supports the goals of the UAE’s Year of Family and contributes to building a balanced digital ecosystem that enhances quality of life across society.

Meanwhile, Reem Al Awabed stressed the importance of empowering parents with digital awareness tools amid evolving technological challenges.

She said strengthening family digital literacy is essential for building a cohesive, sustainable, and socially connected society.

Building A Human-Centric Digital Society

Officials emphasised that digital wellbeing does not mean restricting technology use entirely, but rather encouraging conscious, responsible, and age-appropriate engagement with digital platforms.

The initiative reflects Dubai’s broader strategy of using technology to improve people’s lives while maintaining strong family and social values.

Digital Dubai said the programme forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen digital awareness, support family stability, and reinforce Dubai’s position as a global model for people-focused digital transformation.
