Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) pursues its relentless efforts to promote social responsibility by instilling the values of giving, solidarity and altruism among its employees, as well as its varied activities and programmes aiming to strengthen such good values, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
One of DEWA's activities during this holy month is the Ramadan Iftar tent set up at the Headquarters to serve Iftar meals to its staff, who are on duty during Maghreb prayers, as well as to passers-by. Also, the tent is open every day to big numbers of fasting people from different nationalities.
The number of the daily meals exceeds 2,300 meals, including 1,200 meals in the head office and other offices and 1,100 meals to staff who are on duty during Maghreb prayers at stations of power generation and water desalination at Jebel Ali, Warsan, electricity and water emergency offices, customer service centres, networks control centres located across Dubai.
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA emphasised DEWA's commitment towards social responsibility by organising charitable and humane activities, aiming to strengthen the values of coherence and fraternity among various community segments.
"We are pleased that DEWAs Ramadan Iftar tent hosts increasing number of people year after year, whether from our staff or customers. Such initiative promotes human relations with our customers and establishes the principles of compassion," said Al Tayer.
DEWA has increased the area dedicated for the Ramadan Iftar tent to cater the increasing numbers of fasting people and ensure complete meal rations.
