DEWA organises Talent In-house workshop

As part of its efforts to promote Dubai Innovation Strategy which aims to make Dubai the most innovative city in the world and provide a supportive environment for generating ideas and innovative solutions to improve various aspects of life in the Emirate, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) held a workshop titled Talent In-house at The Address Hotel - Dubai Mall. The workshop aimed to train and qualify DEWAs staff and engineers working at Water and Civil Division in accordance with best international practices.

In line with the vision and guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and in accordance with the national strategy for innovation launched by His Highness to make the UAE among the most innovative countries in the world, DEWA adopts an integrated strategy to promote innovation and creativity among its employees working across all divisions and departments. We consistently promote awareness amongst our staff to educate them on best international practices to create a culture of organisational innovation; help them excel in their daily work; and further improve their skills and talents, said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.

The workshop was attended by HE Mohammed Gheyath, Director General of Mohammed bin Rashid Smart Learning Program, who has pioneered an innovative approach that supports and empowers talents, and Engineer Reem Al Marzouqi, Emirati inventor, who designed a special steering wheel for persons with special needs, as well as Nana Sharif, one of DEWA staff who participated in Antarctica expedition.

DEWA continuously organises workshops and brainstorming sessions covering various subjects to increase the inputs of its staff in making strategies that adopts creativity and innovation in different fields. Complementing the Government Excellence Model, DEWA also encourages the public to contribute to the improvement of its operations and services by submitting their creative and innovative ideas.
