DEWA honours 39 outstanding students in its scholarship programme

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has honoured 39 high-performing Emirati students who are part of DEWA's scholarship program. The award ceremony, organised at DEWA's head office, was gone to by Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support and Human Resources at DEWA, DEWA officials, the students and their families.

Al Tayer applauded the students for their high academic grades, and prompted them to continue their excellence and work harder to expand their understanding and abilities, to honour their nation and be role models for their peers.

"DEWA has a recognized method to motivate Emiratisation by developing a National talent pool. This supports the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to improve Emiratisation. It also supports the UAE Vision 2021 for the UAE to turn into one of the very best countries worldwide and develop a knowledge-based economy, and the Dubai Plan 2021 for Dubai to be a city of delighted, imaginative, and empowered people. DEWA is one of the leading government organisation in the UAE to launch training programs for Emirati students who want to enhance their studies in the energy sector in the house and abroad," stated Al Tayer.

"We have many training programs for Emirati students to complete their studies in the energy sector in the UAE or abroad. Our goal is to develop a generation of Emiratis capable of leading the various elements of the energy sector, add to establishing a generation that understands the role of expert operate in attaining sustainable advancement, and produce quality tasks that benefit both the citizen and the country. These efforts support our function as a socially-responsible organisation," added Al Tayer.

"DEWA has a thorough method to motivate Emiratisation. DEWA's scholarship programme provides outstanding students the chance to continue their research studies at prominent universities in the UAE and abroad.

DEWA works with lots of local and regional universities and institutes to prepare and qualify high school Emirati graduates for engineering tasks in DEWA. The scholarship programme includes a Bachelor's degree in electrical and mechanical engineering in partnership with the United Arab Emirates University for 20 students every year, Intilaq Programme, which provides a bachelor's degree in mechanical and electrical engineering in different private and government universities and colleges, for 60 students each year, a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering at the Higher Colleges of Technology in Dubai (Dubai Men's College) for 20 students each year, and an overseas programme provided for ten students yearly to obtain a Bachelor's degree in renewable energy.
