Cognita schools in UAE roll out research-led online learning programme for new term
Schools under the Cognita network across the UAE are set to begin the new academic term with a structured online learning programme, following guidance from education authorities.
Students at institutions including the Repton School Dubai, Royal Grammar School Guildford Dubai, Horizon International School, Horizon English School, Ranches Primary School and Al Ain English Speaking School will begin Term 3 with two weeks of remote learning, starting March 23.
Research-informed learning approach
To support this transition, Cognita has introduced the Learning Continuity and Connection Programme, a research-informed framework designed to ensure academic progress, wellbeing, and strong community engagement.
The programme blends live teaching, independent study, pre-learning, and personalised mentoring, creating a balanced model that supports students both academically and emotionally.
Balancing structure with flexibility
The initiative is built to provide clear daily routines while maintaining flexibility for families, including those temporarily outside the UAE or in different time zones. Schools will implement structured timetables to ensure consistency throughout the online learning period.
A strong emphasis is placed on regular interaction between students and teachers, alongside ongoing communication with parents to maintain clarity and reassurance.
Wellbeing and enrichment at the core
In addition to academics, Cognita’s EnrichMe programme will offer wellbeing and enrichment activities, ensuring students remain engaged beyond the virtual classroom.
The approach also prioritises age-appropriate learning, with younger students encouraged to engage in offline and guided activities to reduce excessive screen time, while older students benefit from more structured digital learning.
Aligned with UAE education standards
The programme is fully aligned with guidance from the Knowledge and Human Development Authority, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and academic standards.
Supporting families and students
To enhance the learning experience, schools are introducing dedicated parent portals, offering access to timetables, communication tools, attendance guidance, and technical support in one place.
Ian Wallace highlighted that the initiative focuses on delivering clarity, consistency, and confidence for families, while maintaining high-quality teaching and strong school connections.
Ensuring continuity in education
By combining academic excellence with wellbeing and pastoral care, the programme aims to ensure that students remain connected, supported, and able to thrive, regardless of location.
This initiative reflects Cognita’s broader commitment to delivering flexible, high-quality education while adapting to evolving learning environments.
