CABSAT 2024 successfully concludes with several new announcements, partnerships, and MoUs in media, entertainment, and satellite sectors

The 30th edition of CABSAT, the premier conference for the broadcast, satellite, content creation, production, distribution, and entertainment industries, wrapped up successfully on May 23, 2024, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, boasting a record-breaking turnout. Organized by the Dubai World Trade Centre, the event's third day welcomed over 18,000 visitors and featured announcements of collaborations and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between exhibiting organizations, highlighting emerging trends and technologies while fostering insightful discussions.

Almanasa, Iraq’s OTT streaming platform, unveiled a strategic partnership with Roya Media Group to deliver a diverse streaming experience to audiences across Iraq. The partnership, announced at the CABSAT Co-Production Salon, aims to leverage the strengths of both platforms to offer premium digital content.

In addition to the Co-Production Salon, CABSAT 2024 showcased exclusive conference events such as the Content Congress and the SATExpo Summit, providing global industry leaders, regional government officials, and other stakeholders with three days of networking and knowledge sharing opportunities.

Majed Al Suwaidi, Senior Vice President of Dubai Media City, Dubai Studio City, and Dubai Production City at TECOM Group PJSC, emphasized the importance of enabling and accelerating local talent to support the expansion of the regional content creation economy.

The Content Congress featured sessions led by industry experts such as Arjun Radhakrishna from Nas Daily Studios and Asif Bhushan from Phantom Digital Effects, offering insights into artificial intelligence tools for video production and the role of VFX in film creation.

Exhibitors like Carrot Broadcast, LLC, showcased their range of innovations and solutions, specializing in real-time graphics for TV shows and live broadcasts. The event provided a platform for exhibitors to demonstrate their expertise and advance the content landscape.

CABSAT 2024 also featured a session titled ‘Meet The in 5 Startups,’ highlighting innovative ventures and headed by industry leaders from companies like iinfinity media and technologies, Grambell, Glocal, and Lichi Studios.

Ross Tanner, Senior Vice President-EMEA, Magnifi, unveiled enhancements to the Magnifi platform, aimed at advancing content creation and audience engagement, while Pavel Potužák, CEO of Aveco, introduced the revolutionary ASTRA Media Factory product, recognized with the Best of Show 2024 award at NAB.

Attendees were treated to interactive technology demonstrations, including the GlamBot, a high-speed camera attached to a robotic arm, adding a touch of Hollywood glamour to the event.

Moreover, CABSAT 2024 enjoyed its red carpet experience at the BroadcastProME Manufacturer Awards, recognizing firms for their contributions to the region's broadcast sector.
