Black & Veatch Collaborates with Baker Hughes on Standard LNG Solution Featuring PRICO® Technology at ADIPEC 2024
Black & Veatch, a global leader in LNG infrastructure, has announced a strategic collaboration with energy technology company Baker Hughes at the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) 2024. This partnership will integrate Baker Hughes' LM9000 gas turbine and compression technology with Black & Veatch's PRICO® liquefaction technology, creating a standardized LNG solution for mid-scale applications, capable of producing up to 2 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).
The PRICO® technology, which pioneered floating LNG liquefaction in 2016, remains a leading choice for LNG projects with six successful deployments reaching final investment decision (FID). By combining PRICO® with Baker Hughes' LM9000—a highly efficient 65+ MW aeroderivative gas turbine offering 44% efficiency under ISO conditions—this collaboration delivers a versatile solution suited for both onshore and offshore LNG projects.
Alberto Matucci, Vice President of Gas Technology Equipment at Baker Hughes, highlighted the importance of collaboration in advancing sustainable energy: "We are honored to expand our collaboration with Black & Veatch and bring innovative solutions to LNG clients." Youssef Merjaneh, Black & Veatch’s Senior Vice President for Europe, Middle East, and Africa, emphasized the potential impact: “This collaboration with Baker Hughes allows us to offer clients a next-generation, mid-scale LNG train solution, capable of supporting the energy transition.”
Black & Veatch is showcasing its full range of energy solutions at ADIPEC 2024. Visitors can connect with the team to explore the potential of this new LNG solution and more.
