Azizi Foundation Grants $500,000 to Support Afghan Students at AUCA in Kyrgyzstan

The Azizi Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Azizi Group, has announced a significant commitment to cover the full tuition shortfall for nearly 100 Afghan students enrolled at the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

The initiative follows a personal visit by Mr. Mirwais Azizi, Founder and Chairman of Azizi Group, who traveled to Bishkek to meet with university leadership and the students affected by financial hardship.

After engaging in productive discussions with AUCA’s faculty and administration, the Foundation committed to a USD 500,000 grant, ensuring that all 96 Afghan students can continue their studies uninterrupted through to graduation. The partnership was formalized with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Azizi Group and AUCA.

“I strongly believe that education is a fundamental pillar—one that not only enables individuals to lead meaningful and productive lives, but also plays a vital role in the development and prosperity of entire societies,” said Mr. Azizi.

“For this reason, I remain firmly committed to supporting our youth in their pursuit of knowledge, to the best of my ability.”

Before leaving Bishkek, Mr. Azizi hosted a luncheon at the Sheraton Hotel for students, faculty, and dignitaries, including H.E. Ambassador Avazbek Abdulrazakov, Special Envoy of the Kyrgyz Republic for Afghanistan. During the gathering, Mr. Azizi offered words of encouragement, emphasizing the importance of respecting the host country’s laws while staying connected to their Afghan roots.

“It was a warm and uplifting event,” added Mr. Azizi. “I encouraged the students to pursue their goals, to respect the laws of their host country, and above all, to remain engaged with their homeland—Afghanistan. Their optimism and resilience left a deep impression on me.”

This humanitarian initiative underscores the Azizi Foundation’s ongoing commitment to empowering youth through education, particularly those impacted by political and economic instability.
