Azizi Developments Welcomes University of Tulsa as Part of Burj Azizi Global University Exposure Programme
As part of its ambitious Burj Azizi Global University Exposure Programme, Azizi Developments, one of the UAE’s leading private developers, has welcomed a cohort of students and faculty members from the University of Tulsa, USA. The visit marks another milestone in the four-year initiative, launched in January 2025, which aims to engage over 100 universities from more than 70 countries by the end of 2028.
Following earlier visits by the American University in Cairo and Middlesex University, London, the University of Tulsa’s delegation arrived in Dubai on April 21st, comprising eight engineering students and two faculty members. During their immersive educational tour, the group explored the Burj Azizi construction site – the future world’s second-tallest tower – and attended expert-led sessions on civil engineering, MEP planning, architecture, and interior design.
Notably, participants had the opportunity to interact with Mr. Kang Sang Ku, Executive Director of Burj Azizi, and a globally recognized engineer whose portfolio includes the Burj Khalifa. Mr. Kang is leading construction oversight for the Burj Azizi, ensuring cutting-edge quality and technological excellence throughout the build.
Engineering Talent Meets Global Innovation
The student cohort included juniors and seniors from Tulsa’s College of Engineering, such as Gwenith Madhan, Trey Delozier, Ghazal Khan, Chris Hopton, Madeline Meinen, Skyler Leatherman-Rodgers, Juan Reinoso Carbonell, and Cherish Warren-Parsons. They were accompanied by Dr. Marie Moran (Mechanical Engineering) and Dr. William Friedel (Electrical Engineering).
Mr. Farhad Azizi, Group CEO of Azizi Developments and an alumnus of the University of Tulsa, said:
“It is a privilege to welcome students and faculty from my alma mater. This programme represents our commitment to equipping the next generation of engineers with firsthand exposure to Dubai’s world-class urban development and innovation. I’m excited to see how these future leaders will translate this experience into meaningful progress across the globe.”
Strengthening Dubai’s Position as a Knowledge Hub
The Burj Azizi Global University Exposure Programme is designed to foster knowledge exchange and cross-cultural collaboration, while reinforcing Dubai’s role as a global center for architectural excellence and innovation. It offers international students an opportunity to witness and learn from real-world engineering and sustainable construction practices.
The initiative continues in May with a visit from BITS Pilani, India – the next in a series of global academic institutions set to benefit from this visionary program.
