Al Wasl skyscraper joins Empower's portfolio with 3,900 refrigeration tons of cooling capacity.

Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation PJSC (Empower), the world's largest district cooling services provider, has announced the initiation of connecting the Al Wasl Skyscraper to its district cooling network. This architectural marvel, located in a central area of Dubai, will be linked to Empower's network in two phases, with the first phase already underway and the second phase set to commence by the beginning of the second half of 2024. Once completed, the tower will receive a total of 3,900 RT (Refrigeration Tons) of environmentally friendly district cooling energy.

Standing at a towering height of 302 meters and spanning 65 levels, the Al Wasl Tower is adorned with a unique ceramic façade, making it the tallest structure of its kind globally. Reflecting Dubai's rich skyline, the tower is not only an architectural icon but also a symbol of sustainability, built to stringent environmental standards.

His Excellency Ahmad bin Shafar, CEO of Empower, reaffirmed the company's commitment to serving Dubai's premier real estate projects. He stated, "We are dedicated to providing world-class sustainable district cooling services to various sectors in Dubai, in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai."

Bin Shafar emphasized the significance of adding the Al Wasl skyscraper to Empower's portfolio, highlighting the confidence of major real estate developers and customers in the company's reliable services. He stressed that Empower's district cooling solutions can reduce energy consumption by up to 50% compared to traditional air conditioning systems, contributing to Dubai's efforts in carbon emissions reduction.

Al Wasl Tower, now among Dubai's prominent landmarks, boasts a total building area of 1,123,385 square feet. Its innovative design, featuring centralized concrete walls and a distinctive ceramic facade, seamlessly blends aesthetics with functionality. The skyscraper comprises 229 luxury residential units, 258 hotel rooms operated by Mandarin Oriental Hotels, 185,345 square feet of office space, 11 levels of parking, and a helipad, offering a blend of residential, commercial, and hospitality offerings.

With the addition of Al Wasl Tower to its district cooling network, Empower continues to reinforce its role as a leader in sustainable cooling solutions, contributing to the development of environmentally conscious infrastructure in Dubai's burgeoning skyline.
