Al Qassimi Hospital in Sharjah Pioneers Cutting-Edge Technology to Treat Atrial Fibrillation
Al Qassimi Hospital in Sharjah, an Emirates Health Services (EHS) facility, has become the first in the Middle East to introduce the "PulseSelect" technology for the treatment of atrial fibrillation. Previously available only in the United States and Europe, this cutting-edge technology reinforces Al Qassimi Hospital's standing as a regional leader in cardiac care.
The "PulseSelect" system utilizes electrical pulses to isolate excessive electrical activity around the pulmonary veins in the left atrium, providing a safe and effective treatment for atrial fibrillation. This technological advancement is part of EHS’s initiative to equip healthcare facilities with state-of-the-art technologies, enhancing patient care in alignment with the UAE’s "We the UAE 2031" vision and Centennial 2071 goals.
Dr. Arif Al Nooryani, Director of Al Qassimi Hospital, expressed pride in the hospital's leadership in adopting this groundbreaking treatment, which offers a significant improvement in managing atrial fibrillation. Dr. Mohamed Magdi, Consultant and Head of the Cardiac Electrophysiology Department, emphasized that this technology delivers enhanced precision, safety, and effectiveness, allowing patients to recover quickly and be discharged as early as the day after the procedure.
This milestone marks a significant leap in the UAE’s healthcare landscape, solidifying Al Qassimi Hospital’s reputation for innovation and excellence in medical services, while further positioning the UAE as a global leader in advanced healthcare solutions.
