Al Ain Reads 2015 Book Show Opens Doors

The seventh edition of Al Ain Reads 2015 organised by Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) has officially opened doors to visitors at the Al Ain Convention Centre.

Continuing until October 11, Al Ain Reads 2015 Book Show features the participation of 70 local publishers displaying over 60,000 Arabic and English literary and scientific works.

The exhibition has an inspiring programme for children between the ages of 6 12 through a dedicated Creativity Corner that aims to raise their awareness on reading, learning and good behaviour. Held in association with several community organisations, the corner will be divided into four sections: the Reading Section, the Inner Peace Section, the Childrens Health Section and the Educational Counselling Section.

And in an extensive Cultural Programme focusing on the Emirati writer, Sunday evening will welcome Saleem Abu Jamhur highlighting his most recent work, Amathil Bnt Ibn Thahir while Alsaad Omar Al Menhali, Editor-in-Chief of National Geographic Al Arabiya, will share her vision on the prospects of literary clubs.

We are continuing our commitment to promote a literary culture through the seventh consecutive year of Al Ain Reads 2015 Book Show. The exhibition has achieved significant growth every year in the number of participating publishing houses and a remarkable increase in the quality and diversity of the books on show, said His Excellency Juma Al Qubaisi, Executive Director of the National Library division at TCA Abu Dhabi.

We are delighted to showcase an increasing number of works by Emirati writers, who have strengthened their skills with the support of the government. The show will serve as a platform for Emirati writers to meet and interact with the audience in a positive and productive environment to enrich Al Ains cultural scene, add Al Qubaisi.

The exhibition is expected to attract book lovers from all over the UAE and the Sultanate of Oman, with the 2015 event expanded to eight days following overwhelming demand from leading exhibitors and publishing houses.

The exhibition is free to the public and will be open daily from 9:00 13:00 with evening opening from 17:00 21:00, except Friday when the Fair is open between 17:00 22:00. The Cultural Programme stars daily at 18:30.
