Accor and MAVEN Developments Sign Deal to Launch First TRIBE Hotel in Egypt
Accor has signed a landmark hotel management agreement with MAVEN Developments to introduce the first TRIBE hotel in Egypt, marking a major step in expanding into high-growth leisure destinations.
The new property, TRIBE Ain Sokhna at Baymount, will be a 150-key beachfront hotel located in Ain Sokhna. The development will feature two restaurants, a swimming pool, private beach access, a gym, a spa, and design-led social spaces aimed at modern, experience-driven travellers.
The agreement signals a strategic shift beyond capital-focused expansion, as Accor strengthens its footprint along Egypt’s Red Sea corridor. The move reflects growing investor confidence in Ain Sokhna’s emergence as a key leisure destination, supported by infrastructure development and rising demand for second homes.
Founded in 2017 in Australia, TRIBE is a design-forward hospitality brand that focuses on delivering essential, high-quality experiences through bold design and socially engaging spaces. Its entry into Egypt aligns with increasing demand for lifestyle-oriented hospitality concepts catering to both domestic and international travellers.
Raki Phillips, Regional President for Premium, Midscale & Economy for the Middle East, Africa and Türkiye at Accor, highlighted Egypt as a priority growth market driven by strong tourism fundamentals. He noted that the partnership with MAVEN Developments reflects long-term confidence in both the country and Ain Sokhna’s evolution as a premier leisure hub.
Dr. Hossam El Sharkawy said the collaboration underscores MAVEN’s commitment to delivering design-led hospitality experiences while enhancing the long-term value of its flagship Baymount development.
MAVEN Developments currently manages a nationwide portfolio exceeding 5,000 keys across mixed-use and residential projects, and the partnership marks its strategic entry into the hospitality sector.
The signing aligns with Egypt’s Vision 2030 strategy to boost tourism and expand hospitality infrastructure nationwide. As one of the leading international hotel operators in Egypt, Accor continues to scale its presence through brand diversification and strategic partnerships.
Once completed, TRIBE Ain Sokhna at Baymount is expected to become a landmark addition to the Red Sea destination, reinforcing its position as a growing leisure hub and contributing to Egypt’s expanding tourism landscape.
