Abhinav Patwa, Executive Vice President at Al Ghurair Group and Head of Zed, continues to play a pivotal role in shaping Dubai’s next-generation ride-hailing ecosystem. With over 15 years of leadership experience across mobility, technology and retail, he brings a strategic and impact-focused approach to scaling ventures and developing innovative urban mobility solutions.

A graduate of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, Patwa built the foundation of his career at global organisations including McKinsey & Company and the Tata Group between 2010 and 2016. His transition to Uber in 2016 marked a phase of rapid growth and operational success. As General Manager for Rajasthan, he doubled the regional business and improved profitability by 400% within 18 months. His performance led to his appointment as General Manager for Mumbai, eventually advancing to Head of Uber, West India, where he played a key role in launching and expanding new mobility products.

Patwa went on to take up senior leadership roles as Managing Director at Lalamove and Vice President at Onsitego, where he continued to contribute to operational scale and product innovation.

In 2022, he joined Al Ghurair Group in Dubai as Executive Vice President with a mandate to launch and incubate Zed, the company’s homegrown ride-hailing platform. Under his leadership, Zed progressed from concept stage to full-scale deployment, supported by a 60-member team spread across three offices. His focus on convenience, personalisation and experience has positioned Zed as a strong contender in the UAE’s evolving mobility sector.

Through Zed, Patwa aims to redefine ride-hailing standards in Dubai while laying the groundwork for future expansion across the UAE and the wider region.
