Orange Dust Warning Issued Across Several Regions as Dust Storms Persist

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued orange and yellow dust alerts across key regions of the UAE, warning residents and motorists of continued dusty conditions and reduced visibility. The affected areas include Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra, with warnings expected to remain in place through April 17.

Motorists are advised to exercise extreme caution on the roads, as horizontal visibility is expected to be significantly reduced due to airborne dust. The NCM has also advised residents to close all doors and windows to prevent dust from entering homes and buildings.

Temperature and Wind Forecast

  • Temperature highs: 32°C to 37°C

  • Temperature lows: 22°C to 26°C

  • Wind speeds:

    • Up to 50 km/h over coastal and island areas

    • Between 40–45 km/h over mountainous and inland regions

These moderate to strong winds are expected to continue stirring up dust and sand, further aggravating weather conditions across the country.

Safety Guidelines

Residents and motorists are encouraged to follow these safety measures during the dust storm:

  • Drive with headlights on and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles

  • Avoid unnecessary travel during peak dust hours

  • Keep car windows closed and use internal air circulation

  • Wear masks or protective coverings if venturing outside

  • Secure outdoor items that may be blown away by strong winds

The NCM emphasized that extreme dusty weather will persist through tomorrow (April 17) and continues to monitor developments closely. Updates and safety instructions will be issued via official channels.
