Yas Heat Academy’s Al Sabq Returns For 2026 To Discover Next Generation Of Emirati Racing Talent

Yas Heat Academy has announced the return of AL SABQ, its flagship grassroots talent discovery programme, aimed at identifying and nurturing the UAE’s next generation of Emirati racing drivers.

Hosted at Yas Kartzone within Yas Marina Circuit, the initiative is designed for Emirati children aged 5 to 7, offering a structured pathway into competitive karting. Now in its second edition, the programme will place increased emphasis on nationwide participation and female inclusion, reinforcing its position as an inclusive national platform.

The selection event is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2026, where up to 20 young drivers will take part in a full-day assessment. The evaluation process will include time trials, fitness and concentration tests, and behavioural assessments both on and off the track. Participation is free of charge, with registrations closing one week before the event.

Derived from the Arabic word meaning to lead, surpass, or come first, AL SABQ reflects the programme’s ambition to position young Emiratis at the forefront of motorsport development from an early stage.

At the end of the selection process, the top two male drivers and the top female driver will be awarded fully funded Bambino racing seats in selected local championships. These young talents will compete as official drivers under Yas Heat Racing, ensuring equal opportunity and guaranteed progression for female participants.

The inaugural edition, held in May 2025, established the programme as a key national platform for young talent. According to Ali Al Beshr, the initiative reflects a long-term vision to build a sustainable pipeline of Emirati motorsport talent.

AL SABQ represents our long-term commitment to developing future champions. By expanding our reach and focusing on female participation, we are ensuring broader access and reflecting the diversity of UAE motorsport,” he said.

Since its inception, Yas Heat Academy has played a crucial role in developing drivers who have progressed to the international stage, including Keanu Al Azhari, Hamda Al Qubaisi, and Rashid Al Dhaheri.

The 2026 edition of AL SABQ builds on this legacy, further strengthening Yas Marina Circuit’s commitment to youth development, national talent growth, and long-term motorsport excellence in the UAE.
