World Free Zones Organization Announces China as Host for 2025 Annual World Congress
The World Free Zones Organization (World FZO) has officially announced that China will host its 11th Annual World Congress in Hainan Province in 2025. This decision was revealed during the World FZO’s participation in the International Forum on China Reform, part of an official visit led by His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, Chairman of the World Free Zones Organization.
A hosting agreement was signed between Dr. Al Zarooni and Liu Rutao, Deputy Director General of the Hainan Provincial Bureau of International Economic Development, confirming Hainan as the 2025 Congress venue. During the same visit, Dr. Al Zarooni also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Qi Fulin, President of the China Institute for Reform and Development. This MoU establishes the Free Zones Institute, a joint initiative to foster research, innovation, and collaboration, ultimately aiming to promote economic growth, expand trade, and encourage knowledge-sharing among global stakeholders.
Dr. Al Zarooni commented, “We are pleased to announce that the 11th World FZO World Congress will take place in China. The MoU with the China Institute for Reform and Development to establish the Free Zones Institute will further enhance the role of free zones as catalysts for economic recovery, innovation, and sustainable growth.”
The World FZO World Congress 2025 will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders from around the world to advance the organization’s mission, share insights, and address global economic challenges.
