WETEX 2024: Etihad Water and Electricity Enhances Digital Transformation with SAP for Smart Solutions
Etihad Water and Electricity (EtihadWE) has completed the first phase of its digital transformation in collaboration with SAP SE. Announced at the Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2024), this partnership aims to enhance utility services, increase operational efficiency, and support sustainability in line with the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 Strategy.
EtihadWE, responsible for electricity and water supply in the Northern Emirates, has migrated core business functions to the cloud with SAP's solutions, marking a significant step towards a smarter, AI-driven future. The new system includes SAP S/4HANA, which offers real-time data insights, process automation, and operational visibility. This digital upgrade also incorporates HR, finance, procurement, and utilities-specific modules to improve customer experience and employee engagement.
EtihadWE CEO Yousif Ahmed Al Ali emphasized the utility's commitment to supporting the UAE’s sustainability goals, while SAP’s Managing Director, Marwan Zeineddine, highlighted the importance of the public-private partnership in advancing global best practices and sustainable development.
